Ardray Scottish glen with streams

When you taste Ardray, you’re tasting Scotland.

Because like all fine Scotch whiskies, there’s no separating Ardray from its homeland. Unlike other Scotch whiskies, however, we weren’t just inspired by the history and tradition of Scottish whisky makers. We also are driven by a quest for blended Scotch excellence. Bringing together the best of Scotland’s terroir, Ardray is our interpretation of Scotch whisky’s rich and varied history and the possibilities for its future.

Come and join us on this distinctly Scottish journey.

The Suntory blenders began Ardray’s journey focusing on the same blended Scotch whiskies from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that first inspired Suntory’s founder, Shinjiro Torii. These are the legendary blends that pioneered Scotch’s worldwide expansion and global success. Their richness and depth of flavour served as the guiding light of the Ardray blending process and helped bring Torii-san's vision full circle.

Stretching across Scotland, Ardray draws upon the character and complexity of Scottish terroir. Every layer of flavour is rooted in a place. Speyside and the Highlands are home to the aged malts and grain whiskies that form our rich, complex flavour. On the misty and moody Islands, you’ll find the malts that give Ardray its warm, smoky charisma. The varied flavours of Scotland’s malts and grains balance each other to elevate the entire Ardray blend.

IF THE SCOTTISH TERRAIN GIVES ARDRAY IT'S PERSONALITY, THEN IT'S THE SCOTTISH CRAFTMANSHIP AND TRADITION THAT GIVE ARDRAY IT'S HEART.

Inspired by a bygone era of Scotch whisky-making, Ardray relies on fewer, yet more characterful malts to create a depth of flavour. As the Suntory blenders explored the finest Scotch whiskies, they noted how the quality and flavour of whisky is derived from qualities of the new make spirit. We call this Distillery Character — the unique personality of spirit formed from the specific combination of terroir and process at each distillery.

Ardray’s roots are firmly planted in some of Scotland’s most famed distilleries. We brought together the Beam Suntory family of distilleries (owners of Laphroaig, Bowmore and Glen Garioch), along with those of our partner at the Edrington Group (owners of The Macallan, Glenrothes and Highland Park distilleries) to source our distinct collection of malt and grain whiskies that tap into Scotland’s diverse terroir and distilling traditions.

Inspired by the country, its varied landscape, natural beauty and traditional craftsmanship, and by traditional Scotch whiskies, their rich history and the character of their distilleries, what we hope you taste most in Ardray are the true flavours of Scotland.

We sourced grains and malts from across the country and returned to traditional whisky-making processes, to not only honour the heritage of Scotch whisky, but to create a rich, complex and characterful blend that introduces something new in the world of blended Scotch whisky.
